It's Been A Long Week

Well, the everyday blogging is definitely impossible for me if I can't make it past day 3..sheesh....Oh well, here I am again.  This has been a crazy week.  First of all, it's MOPS week and well, I know better than to plan lots of things during MOPS week...MOPS went well...we have a record number of moms registered and still more coming.  I love ministering to mommies.  We all need each other and I am blessed that God has given me this passion and the time to invest in the lives of these moms.

I am hurting for a friend tonight....Health is something we take for granted so many times.  I pray that there is healing and peace felt by my friend and her family.

We had my nephews over tonight to eat and play and they were all playing Dress Up....Kaylee comes in with gloves on her hands, sunglasses and a baby baseball rattle toy....She stands and rings the toy and says Merry Christmas...I'm going to the North Pole to see Santa....I looked at her several minutes and then I said, Honey what are you dressed like...."I'm a bell ringer, mom"...NOW....that was genius!!!  My sweet Kaylee says some of the sweetest funniest things.  I hope to make this a habit to capture those funny memorable moments with my kids.

I had a busy day yesterday with MOPS and visiting with a long time friend.  Then for a late evening with the girls...I was so tired...but woke up somehow in Caleb's bed and got everyone ready only to get a text that the friend I had invited to breakfast this morning at 9:15 am was running a little late.....Look down at my watch and .....9:13....Holy Cow, I almost really goofed up...Ended up she was a little later even than me getting there late..sheesh...We had a wonderful visit.  I am thankful for my friends.  God has blessed me with some pretty incredible friends.  We had a pretty uneventful day after that...just common household tasks...But the kids are in bed and I'm headed there myself with my Molly dog close behind...
As I tell my kids every night...I'll see you in the morning when the Sun comes up!!!!

It's DONE!

Well, it's 11:26 pm and I'm just now blogging for the day....The Christmas stuff came down today...I always forget how long it takes for this...The kids cried and hugged the tree and begged me not to take it down.  It was cute and all to have my own "tree huggers"..but the tree came down anyway!!

My husband and I are HOOKED on Smallville...Yes, the Superman story...You'd love it too if you only watched it.  Every year for Christmas he seems to get the previous season, so we watch them when the kids go to bed...Date night at it's cheapest...We have the best time.

Guess I'll close for tonight.  I chipped a nail today putting up the Christmas stuff...just thought I'd add that to the mix...I was a little upset about that. Good night to all...and to my kiddos..I'll see you in the morning when the sun comes up!!!

Let's Take Down the Christmas Stuff

Well....I'ts January 3rd and my goal today was to take down the Christmas Tree as well as all of the other Christmas decorations.  I got up, made my list of things to get done for the week and realized that we probably needed to have clean clothes, so I got the laundry going and then started working on MOPS stuff...I am the coordinator at FBCO and we meet this week...then I realized that I needed to run to Wal-Mart and pick up some last minute stuff for MOPS and for us...then I came home and did more laundry and well...somehow the Christmas stuff is still out and the tree is still lit.  I think it will have to wait until tomorrow.

I miss getting Christmas cards in the mail everyday...what a nice surprise to hear from someone who wants nothing more than to tell you and your family Merry Christmas!!  I think maybe if the bill collectors started putting their bills in brightly colored envelopes with a nice letter or picture of themselves we'd smile a bit more when writing their checks...then again...maybe NOT!!!!

I am trying to get today's blogging done while the kids are "soaking" in the bathtub...I figure the longer they soak with bubbles and floating wash clothes that they are bound to get clean...right???  I just need to dry them off sometime before their lips turn purple from the water getting cold...I know you've done the same thing, so just laugh with me...No one will turn you in!!!  As I type this I hear Caleb shouting, "Mom, I'm ready to rinse..." Kaylee is now "swimming" and telling Caleb that he is not her brother but her pet..I love 3 and 4 year old conversations.  They are priceless.

Well, that is all for now.  I think I'll go put on my Christmas "footie" pj's and gaze at my Christmas tree one last time...Tomorrow it WILL come down....

My New Year's Goal....Blogging!!

Ok...So here goes nothing.  I tried to think of something fun to do for 2011 that would be memorable for my family.  I want so badly to hold onto these memories that we Martin's are making.  I know I will forget things that at one time were so new and "unforgettable" to me.  I am honored to be the mommy of two beautiful kids and the wife a wonderful husband....oh, and a dog, Molly!!  I just don't want to miss anything that they do.  My sweet kids are growing up so fast that I have got to start doing something so that I remember the sweet and FUNNY things that they say and do.  This blog is dedicated to those little people who call me mommy....

So...January 2nd is my first entry....hope it's not my last.  I'm actually suppose to be putting Caleb to bed right now...better get that done...or that will be memory and heading #1...The Night I Was Suppose to be Putting Caleb to Bed....oh, well...Good Night all....and Caleb, I love you to the moon and back....
